We are excited to announce some big company changes at Bedrock Sandals. Since starting Bedrock in 2011 we have made sandals out of everything from cabins to warehouses - moving from California to Virginia and back. Along the way we’ve worked with some amazing people in each iteration of the business and have built footwear we are both really proud of.

During the past 5 years we have spent here in the Bay Area of California, our company has grown year over year and we’re beyond thankful for your support enabling this organic growth.

Although we have loved our time in California, we’ve spent the last year searching for a new home that best suits Bedrock - a place with better backyard access to rivers and mountains, a more affordable cost of living, and more seasons for testing and developing new footwear.

After searching and considering many small cities and mountain towns across the states, we are excited to announce we’ll be moving Bedrock to Missoula, Montana at the very beginning of next year. We are looking ahead to this big new adventure with new landscapes to explore, a more sustainable atmosphere to continue building our homegrown business, and everyday access to trails and rivers in our backyard. 

In the meantime, we’ve been hard at work on further iterations to our current line and future designs to allow for more year-round Bedrocking. Be on the lookout for an exciting product launch early this March with more on the horizon.

Going into 2020, we will begin to hold and sell from a deeper inventory as we strengthen our relationship with Vibram and our USA sewing partner in California. Moving to an inventory model will enable us to grow and ship sandals faster with a wider variety of shipping options for our customers. Our new HQ in Missoula will host office space for our growing team, a flagship store, and a workshop for in-house repairs + resoles. Expect to continue receiving best in class customer service and ever-improving quality standards in our footwear.

We are so appreciative of, and humbled by our amazing employees in California who are wishing us well during this big move to Montana. Transitions can be difficult but we have committed to taking care of those who will not move with the company making sure that our family here has a soft landing into their future.

In choosing Missoula, MT as the location to establish roots we are taking further steps to grow Bedrock sustainably. Missoula is a community focused on environmental activism and outdoor recreation. We are excited to further learn Montana’s trail and river network and get connected with local sandal clad adventurers. Already Bedrock is involved with local non-profits at the forefront of environmental stewardship through 1% for the Planet donations and we’re excited to further these efforts by getting our feet on the ground in Montana and continuing in our mission to build the best outdoor footwear, care for our planet, and find fun-fillment in our work along the way.
