Cairn Evo C Sandals

I love my Bedrock sandals but unfortunately they developed a crack in the sole. The sandals were comfortable and were in great shape other than the crack. I submitted a warranty claim on the website and they responded promptly with a request for pictures of the sandals. I sent the photographs they requested and 2 days later they notified me they were sending me a new pair of sandals! I picked out the same sandals that I had before on their website. They sent me the new version of my old sandals a few days later an I couldn't be happier. The new sandals are broken in now and I am happily hiking and going for walks again. Way to stand behind your product Bedrock.

I've tried few Tivas, Chaos, flip flops, etc, and these struck the right balance for me between comfort, fit, and weight. They feel light as flip flops, with the comfort similar to a nice pair of Tivas, but my foot doesn't stray as much compared to the Tivas, especially when walking down steeper grades. I have some Chacos with a Vibram sole that were awfully heavy, and those are also annoying to get on/off. The Cairn Evo C is easy to put on and wear, and the thicker outsole is super comfortable for plenty of walking on concrete/asphalt as I do, while also grippy enough for hikes and adventures. My only real gripe is that I run them slightly loose to not get discomfort at the strap between my toes. It can take a second to get the right amount of snug without getting a little uncomfortable, but totally manageable.

I needed a barefoot-inspired sandal that I could use to walk a lot on pavement (where I do most of my day-to-day walking). So I was looking for something with a flat sole, no arch support or incline on the heel, and a wide toe box for plenty of room for the toes to move around. All of my shoes are minimal like this.

I've been using Xero Z-trails for a long time but started getting knee pain when walking too much on pavement - an instant no-go for me. The Z-trails are still great for trails and day hikes, just not for daily wear throughout the city and suburbs.

1 month in and I couldn't be happier with my Evo Cs! They wrap around the foot nicely and are very comfortable and secure. I can wear them all day with no discomfort. They have a thick sole for extra cushion for walking on hard surfaces and I can easily run to catch my young kids in them. I'd also use them for touristy hikes where there's a lot of pavement.

I really hope Bedrock never stops making these sandals! Hopefully they'll last me a few years and a few hundred miles, and these are still around for me to purchase them again!
