I would imagine my failed pair (gradual outsole separation) was an outlier/anomaly since Bedrock sandals have a very solid reputation for durability, but I got a replacement pair that arrived days later, no questions asked. Big thanks!
Brief review roughly about 2 years later: The sandals could almost be considered to be "best in class" for what they're used for considering the specs (ie: 14mm stack height, strapping system). Luna & Shamma sandals do have a few pairs that are in the 14mm stack height range with use for hiking/trail running in mind but Bedrock's seem to have the most consistent good reviews for reliability of the strap system, which is quite easy to dial in.
= CON & THOUGHTS ON COMFORT: The sandals ARE most definitely comfortable, however I might have to give them a 4.5/5 for comfort during running activities. You'll definitely have to adjust to the sandal style and you WILL, with time. I once removed them during a short run and opted to run barefoot for comfort. This isn't exactly a fault of the sandal as I probably would've also done the same thing if I were wearing shoes at the time; sandals simply just makes it easier to chuck them off (shoes: unlace, remove socks, carry it all). I'd imagine that a well-ventilated/broken-in in shoe might be more comfortable to me at the current time, but the more I wear these and adjust to how they feel on my foot, the more I actually opt to put these on when I go anywhere, which is to say that I might be becoming a…

im slightly annoyed that there is a lesser option, ive owned multiple pairs of these sandals and ive always bought them in person in store and have never seen the velcro option. I live in a place now where i didnt have them readily available so I ordered mine this time online and to my surprise I did not order the "pro" pair so i have a velcro strap and its fine but its a bummer. for the money spent to this company i accidentally bought a lesser model ignorantly and needed to use them immediately for a trip, as im an industry guide ive learned my lesson and it cost me but my feet are happy to be in sandals and they are secure but the velcro is already curling and bothering me just slightly. Make sure if you want to hook strap rhat you are buying the "pro" pair.

Awesome sandals. I’ve had issues with blisters when hiking in other brands of outdoor sandals and have had none of these issues with Bedrocks

Like 10 years ago, I had chacos and they gave me insane blisters. I persevered for like 8 weeks but they just wouldn't break in. That turned me off to sandals, but I really needed something for fly fishing wet wading so I went with these. So far I love them - I used the toe socks for the first few days wearing them around the house. I haven't done proper hiking (only like 1 mile so far) but zero complaints so far. I'm 11.5 HOKAs, 10.5 Vans, 11.5 La Sportiva, and got these in 11 and they fit great. Believe it or not I actually think they look cool too , haha!
