These are just what I wanted: rugged enough to hike in and sturdy enough to last, but still low-profile/minimal with lots of groundfeel so I feel connected to the earth and my feet can move naturally. I am usually a 7.5 (with wide toes); ordered a 7 based on the helpful printout sizing guide. They fit with just a minimal margin around my foot—just enough to keep my toes from stubbing. I like the hook-and-webbing closures: no velcro to catch sand! Additionally, I'm psyched about the eco- (and wallet-) friendly Re-Soul + Repair Program...now I just have to wear them out enough to use it.

side note: if you plan on hiking in these (which i would recommend) size up 1 size so that you have some room when descending and you'll keep from bashing your toes on rocks. (i got my second pair after realizing this. 2 years old and still going strong)

So look, I haven’t thoroughly tested these sandals yet. Straight out of the box these things are gorgeous. I love them. I’ve been wearing them around the house dreaming of the day when I can put them to the test. The first week of March, I’ll be taking them on a backpacking trip in Hawaii. I’ll have to update my review after that. My guess is they will be the best sandals I’ve ever had. Stay tuned.
