I have a medium width heel and mid foot with a narrow forefoot + a longer second toe, the Cairn has more than enough adjustability to get my foot where I want it in every use scenario. Excellent materials and construction and true to size. I'm a long time daily flip flop wearer so the toe post didn't cause me any issues at all.

I had read reviews where wearers stated they would buy the non Evo model for daily use if they were to buy again, and I have to agree. These soles are borderline too aggressive for daily use / paved surfaces. I can feel the tread blocks creating pressure points on my feet, especially when squatting on the balls of my feet which is actually uncomfortable due to a tread block being located directly on the ball of the foot. So I would consider these a dedicated use sandal.

HOWEVER for off road use these are unbelievable. The day after I received them I tried them trail running in the northern Ozarks (I'm not a serious trail runner but every now and then run the same trails in minimal sole Altras) where the terrain is rolling with short steep hills, all types of soil, lots of creek crossings and loose rocky stuff including sharp broken flint and they were remarkable. The stability and traction are similar to heavy hiking boots but obviously with freedom of movement. This is my first ever pair of sandals, I've only worn flips in the past, and I didn't have any issues with rubbing even with a couple of miles following the first creek crossing and…

My new go-to sandals while my old pair of Bedrocks are off getting re-sole’d. Comfortable, sturdy, lightweight.

The old pair I used a lot for a few years, until the sole (all at about the same time) seemed to start coming off, tearing, and was going bald anyway. This was after a ton of use, and the upper was still in good shape: I was happy with them. So I sent the old pair back for the re-sole service.
