These things has amazing traction and thick tread for hiking and scrambling up steep rock formations while still being extremely comfortable and good for foot health due to the wide toe box and (pretty much) flat bottom. Rarely get rocks in them, but when it happens you can just hold your foot up and joggle them out pretty easily. They fit amazingly well due to the daisy chain-like adjustment system, which allows semi-permanent adjustments, to your foot specifically. They hold securely to your feet when hiking, but can easily be slipped on and off with very minimal adjustment necessary, no laces required. The closed toe design protects you from scratches and bangs, and also give the mountain clogs a more dressy appearance than their sandal counterparts. I would recommend wearing these with socks, as they will likely develop odor after a few days of wearing them without. Though, if you are doing a hike where you have to walk through a lot of water or mud, you can forego the socks, and just spray them off with the hose afterwards. Even if you hate hiking, these are awesome, comfortable shoes for working an office job, and the leather also makes them look the part. They are also the best shoes I have ever worn for biking, both mountain and normal. Do not be dissuaded by the price of these things, as they will last a long time, and can eventually be resoled for a more reasonable price. I reached out prior to purchasing to get some advice on sizing. Im normally a 6 so I ordered a full size up as recommended, especially if you like to wear socks with your clogs. I recently used this on a trip to Big Bend National Park and honestly this was the only shoe I used - they were great no matter the terrain or situation. My feet didn't hurt at all. They are comfy for long drives and rocky trails. Would definitely recommend.
