Honestly, I was never going to get these. I just tried them out on a whim but they felt surprisingly good.

But it's not until I actually got them adjusted and took them out did I realize how much I like them. There's something about the construction, I almost feel barefoot while stepping forward. Like the base falls away a little bit and the strap supports it so comfortably that you don't notice it. The result almost feels like your foot is completely bare until you step down and the footbed protects you from all the pointy rocks. 5/5!

I may go with the pro version after I wear these out as I feel that sometimes the velcro doesn't bed firmly. It's more a maintenance issue on my part. I simply need to brush out the sand that infiltrates when the velcro gets wet during crossings. The pro uses a different strapping system for the heel. Regardless, Bedrock's, rock!

One thing I would love is alpaca toe socks! When will Bedrock make their own toe socks? Either 5 toe or split toe as long as they're alpaca and not merino wool.

I really enjoyed my first pair which was the model with the ultra thin sole. That said as a traveler I’m sometimes in these for 15 hours a day walking around cities, to trail, to beach. These are way more comfortable and appear to be just as stout. That said they do run a little large. I bought a 12 in my first bedrock (I’m a 12 wide or EE in every other shoe) these are an 11 and the length is much more suitable. I hope these last as long as my first pair!
