Behind the Scenes in Bedrock's Backyard

A couple times a year we head off into backcountry to capture images for the upcoming season's product campaign. There's a lot of logistics that go into these shoots from location scouting, creating shot-lists, getting product samples well before their respective launch dates, finding local Bedrock talent to join us, etc. Lucky for us the location planning can be simple if we want to stay close to home. Just about 35 miles from our Montana HQ, lies some of our favorite alpine trails & whitewater runs. This past summer we hit those favorite spots and got to call backpacking and running rapids work.

For fun we've compiled some of our favorite BTS from the shoot below. We captured images on Bedrock photographer Andrew's Maimiya RZ67 PRO II and Bedrock Director of Ops Matt's point and shoot film camera.

Guaranteed for miles and miles of smiles. Film vs. digital.

Film vs. digital with new Wild Flower Coral Sandals.

Bedrockers have more fun :)

Creative direction from a raft ✅ .

Frisbee on film.

Riverside charcuterie/kraft services.

Very few posed shots.

But many shots like this.

Mandatory cannonball take 1.

Mandatory cannonball take 2.

More cliffside shenanigans.

A packrafting side quest.

Serious sandals for not-so-serious people.

With a side of serious rapids.

All tuckered out at quittin' time.

I have recently purchased one pair of mountain clogs and one pair of Cairn Evo sandals. I must admit they are the best shoes I have ever worn. I think they are perfectly going to be my basic item from summer to winter. My sincerely congratulations to the design and production team

Live my bedrocks! I have the basic black version. I think I take more foot pics on my hikes than selfies. lol. I always get asked about hiking in sandals. I love to tell them I am much more secure in my footing with sandals than hiking boots. I trip and slip way more in boots!
